Nicola, Mainz, Germany

I moved to Germany over 25 years ago after taking part in the Erasmus programme. Sheffield Hallam to Giessen. I came to Mainz for work (International Sales Director - wine business) 11 years ago. Originally I am from Runcorn, Cheshire and also lived in Warrington. Here I am 20km from Frankfurt- central to European travel an adventures. My brother moved here 6 years ago to build a new life. here I have many friends from all over Europe we share culture and friendship.

A selection of these appears in the Postcards from the British in Europe installation in Departures, the museum's current exhibition exploring four centuries of emigration from Britain, bringing Britain’s emigration story and its emigrants into the national conversation about migration
